What to Wear While Riding:
It's a proven fact: Helmets significantly reduce the number and severity of head injuries. So always wear an approved motorcycle helmet and make sure your passenger does the same. We also recommend that you wear eye protection, sturdy boots, gloves and other protective gear.
Suit Up. Your life depends on it. Proper riding gear is of the upmost importance to your safety. Honda strongly recommends that you always wear proper gear when operating your Honda motorcycle.
What to Wear While Riding on the RoadMake Yourself Easy to See
Motorcycles aren’t always as visible on the road – especially when motorists aren’t looking for them.
Use these tips to help improve your visibility:
• Wear clothing that is bright and reflective.
• Position yourself in a way that makes you visible to other drivers.
• Signal before turning or changing lanes.
• Use your horn to help others notice you.
Ride Within Your Limits
Pushing the limits is another major cause of motorcycle accidents. Never ride beyond your personal abilities or faster than conditions warrant. Remember that alcohol, drugs, fatigue and inattention can significantly reduce your ability to make good judgments and ride safety.
Safety Check
For safer riding, it's important to inspect your motorcycle before every ride and keep your motorcycle well-maintained as per the Honda recommended maintenance schedule. But it's just as important to observe the break-in guidelines, and perform all pre-ride and other periodic checks detailed in your owner's manual. We also recommend that you read your owner's manual before you ride. It's full of facts, instructions, safety information, and helpful tips.
Never exceed load limits, and only use accessories that have been approved by Honda for your motorcycle. Always conduct a Pre-ride inspection before operating your Honda motorcycle.
Keeping Your Honda Motorcycle in Safer Condition
To help avoid breakdowns and other mechanical problems, be sure to inspect your motorcycle before every ride; perform any recommended maintenance as well.
Depending on your mechanical skill level, you may be able to complete some of the maintenance tasks. More complicated maintenance may require specialized tools – these tasks are best left to skilled professionals.
Attempting service or repairs without the proper training, tools, and equipment could cause personal injury, damage to the vehicle, or even create an unsafe condition.
If you intend on using a replacement part, service, or a tool that is not Honda-approved, it is recommended that you first determine the risks involved.
If you need to replace a part, use genuine Honda parts, not replacement parts of inferior quality. Remember that your Honda dealer knows your motorcycle best and is fully equipped to maintain and repair it.
Before you begin riding, there are several things to take into consideration; first and foremost, becoming familiar with your Honda ATV or Side-by-Side.

Planning Your Ride
When planning an excursion, always ride with at least one other person. It’s also important to let someone else know where you’re going and when you expect to return.
If your ride involves crossing an unfamiliar area, there are also several things to consider:
Keep Your Honda Clean
When you clean your Honda ATV or SxS, it should be clear and free from any buildup of dirt, dust, or debris. Debris and dust can impair vision while riding, so be sure to keep your Honda clean. Keeping your vehicle clean can also help prevent rust.
When not in use, store your Honda under a cover or in a garage or shed to protect it from the elements.
Make Yourself Seen
All modern Honda ATVs and SxSs have their lights on when riding. There are, however, several other things you can do to better increase your visibility – especially in low-light riding conditions.
Wear high visibility gear and reflective stickers.
